On a recent trip to New York my granddaughter was in awe of all the flags at the United Nations building. It was amazing to see the interest in her, first of all the colors and then all the patterns.

She could not stop asking questions and so after our tour, we went to the gift shop and bought a book about all the flags of the world She also bought a poster of flags to hang in her room.

All the way home she was reciting facts about different flags and their origins. The following Monday, in school, she gave a short talk about the flags and proudly displayed her poster. The children liked it so much, she donated it to the class.
